Recognized by Billboard magazine as the top selling new male artist and top new airplay artist in 1997-1998 in country music, he burst on the scene with five consecutive Billboard and Radio & Records magazine top twenty hits between 1997 and 2001. Three top five singles (Drink Swear Steal & Lie, From Here To Eternity & Too Good To Be True: on the Billboard or Radio & Records Chart) and 2 number one Country Music Television (CMT) music videos including his wedding standard “From Here to Eternity”, which was recently chosen as the #4 best loved Country Music Wedding song of all time.
He is a proven-hit songwriter with the unique distinction of having his songs recorded by Hall of famers in Country, Gospel, Pop and Rock. Michael’s songs have been recorded by Grammy-winning superstars like Travis Tritt, Timothy B. Schmit (The Eagles), The Classic Imperials, Ty Herndon, John Berry and Deniece Williams.
With over 150 concert performances for deployed Service men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan, Michael Peterson is the 2008 recipient of the U.S.O’s distinguished Bob Hope “Spirit of Hope” award for his service to the nation and the servicemen and women of the Armed Forces.
In addition, Michael’s commitment to serving others with his talents has caused organizations such as Special Olympics, Selective Service, Ronald McDonald House, the USO, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The American Legion, the New Holland Corporation and the U.S. Army to seek him out as a voice for messages that matter.
For over 30 years Michael Peterson has consistently created, inspired and entertained millions of people. With 18 music albums to his credit, he has also been a contributing author for 7 books including the New York Times best-selling, “Chicken Soup for the Soul” series. The most recent being a children’s book titled “Little IsGood” co-written with his wife COL (Retired) Jill Chambers and the co-creator of the famed “Muppet Babies” series along with Jim Henson illustrator, Guy Gilchrist
Although Michael and his wife Jill own a home in Las Vegas, you might say they “live” all over the world.
During 2015 & 2016, Michael has been the primary male soloist for the renowned 21st Century Orchestra & Chorus on their Western Concert Series. This concert tour has found Michael performing in front of sold out audiences across Europe in historic venues like the Frankfurt Opera House and London’s acclaimed Royal Albert Hall.
When they aren’t in Europe on a tour or here at home serving Veterans across the nation, Michael and Jill currently spend most of their time in Branson Missouri, where Michael is Joint Musical Director and one of the stars of the critically acclaimed “Raiding The Country Vault” stage show presenting the history of American Country music as part of an All-Star cast.
