For a moment during halftime all 36,421 fans watching Syracuse eventually beat Rhode Island, 21-14, stood in silence. They fixed they’re collective eyes on the Carrier Dome’s 50-yard line where Grammy nominated recording artist Michael Peterson performed his Sept. 11 tribute song, “You Could Hear a Pin Drop.”
Michael was named the recipient of the 2011 American Legion National Education Award. The award is presented to groups or individuals that have significantly and positively enhanced education in the United States.
